The College Archives of Imperial College London was established in 1956 with the appointment of the first archivist in 1957. Prior to the establishment of the archives, a muniment room was established in 1937 to gather materials relating to the history of College. The muniment room was set up the Records Committee which had been established in 1934 to organise the collection of college records.

The Business School at Imperial College, formerly know as the Management School, was established in January 2003. The School contributes to advanced teaching and research at the interfaces of management, technology and innovation. It has a broad focus upon issues of industrial performance, and especially on the management processes on innovation.
